What is planned
LibreTimes is in early access and invite-only. This page is what is actually coming, as opposed to what would be nice. Nothing here has a date.
On LibreTimes
- Notifications. In-app and email notifications for replies, follows, and mentions.
- Publication versions. History for a publication, so readers can see what changed.
- Source download. Letting readers export a publication's Markdown source, if the author opts in per publication.
- Better discovery. Continuous scrolling on the feed, and recommendations based on the categories you follow.
Two sibling products
Both are planned as separate sites sharing the same account and the same author identity, so your CV follows you. Neither is built. Neither has a date.
LibreProblems would be a curated, cross-discipline reference database of
problems, theorems, lemmas, corollaries, and conjectures, with proofs and
worked solutions, citable by a stable short identifier and available in
several languages. It is meant to do for every academic discipline roughly what
problems.ru does for Russian-language mathematics. It is not competitive
programming and not olympiad rating.
Worth being clear about the overlap: you can already publish worked problems on LibreTimes today. Those are profile-attached writeups that you own and can edit. LibreProblems entries would be curated reference records that outlive any one author's profile.
LibreJournal would be an arXiv-style home for citable records – original research, preprints, review articles, reports, and theses – with versioned identifiers and an optional peer-review workflow that each collection could switch on. This is where a thesis or a preprint belongs, which is why LibreTimes does not accept them.
What is not planned
Some things get asked for often enough to be worth ruling out. LibreTimes is not going to become a general social network, a Q&A site, or an interactive courseware platform. Where an established site already does something well, the plan is to link to it rather than reimplement it.
