1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using LibreTimes ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by these terms, please do not use this Service.

2. Description of Service

LibreTimes is a scientific and educational platform for researchers, scientists, lecturers, and students to publish works, articles, and courses. The Service includes features for:

Publishing academic and scientific content
Creating and maintaining researcher profiles
Discovering and following other researchers
Uploading and sharing attachments

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.

Account Requirements

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account
You must provide accurate and complete information
You may not share your account credentials with others

One account per person

Each person may hold one account. If your account is suspended or terminated for a policy violation, creating a new account to continue using the Service is itself a violation, and the new account will be closed as well.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit, post, or display on LibreTimes. By submitting content, you grant LibreTimes a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and distribute your content in connection with the Service. (Author content is CC-BY-SA-4.0 by default — see the license terms shown at publication time for specifics.)

Content Guidelines

The full content standards, including what LibreTimes does and does not allow and how moderation works, are in the Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. In short, you agree not to post content that:

Infringes on intellectual property rights
Contains plagiarized material
Is false, misleading, or fraudulent, or amounts to disinformation contradicting established scientific consensus
Violates any applicable laws or regulations
Harasses, threatens, or bullies others
Constitutes hate speech, or incitement to violence, terrorism, or the violent overthrow of government
Is spam, fraud, or undisclosed bulk AI-generated content
Is explicit advertising (sponsorship disclosure and self-promotion of your own work are allowed — see the Acceptable Use Policy for the line)

5. Academic Integrity

LibreTimes is committed to maintaining academic integrity. Users must:

Properly cite sources and give credit to original authors
Not engage in plagiarism or misrepresentation of work
Disclose conflicts of interest
Maintain honesty in research reporting

Violations will result in account suspension or termination.

6. Privacy

Your use of LibreTimes is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

7. Intellectual Property

The LibreTimes platform, including its design, features, and content (excluding user content), is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

8. Enforcement and Termination

Violations of the Acceptable Use Policy are handled under the process described there — a human moderator decides, you're told the reason for any action that restricts or removes content, and you can appeal. Separate from that process, LibreTimes reserves the right to terminate or suspend access to the Service for breach of these Terms.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

10. Limitation of Liability

LibreTimes shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes via email or through the Service. Superseded versions remain available so that the version you originally accepted stays retrievable.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. (The operating entity and its jurisdiction are still being finalized — see the Russian-jurisdiction note in the platform's content policy for the background; this section will be updated once that is settled.)
